First, we expect to dine in a restaurant that oozes AMBIENCE. The primary attributes of this fundamental element include a close evaluation of:
– character and atmosphere
– style and comfort
– table and glassware
– other guests
Second, we demand and expect exceptional SERVICE. The primary attributes of this fundamental element include a close evaluation of:
– floor staff (knowledge and presentation of food, attention to details and awareness of guests)
– sommelier, maitre’d, chef, manager
Third, we think this element is, well, self-evident. That is, we always are seeking fantabulous FOOD. The primary attributes of this fundamental element include a close evaluation of:
Fourth, given our penchant for sipping while snacking, we seek a restaurant that takes very seriously the delivery of outstanding, reasonably priced WINE. The primary attributes of this fundamental element include a close evaluation of:
Finally, we present our rating of the restaurant as follows:
= Bad, no point visiting.
= Functional dining if you just need to fill-out one of your three square meals a day. Also used with to offer half way between
= Good, but probably not worth wasting quota, i.e. you can only eat so much in a day so go somewhere else.
= Very good, worthy of a visit.
= Excellent. If you are in town, you should book and expect an all around excellent event.
= Exceptional. If you are in the relevant country and you have the time, you should treat yourself to an exceptional event.
= Mind-blowing, meets “exceptional” in all categories, i.e. Ambience, Service, Food, Wine, Misc. If you are on the planet, you should find time at least once in your life to visit.
